Literature Text

Gazing upon the obscure world
A nightly visitor, grim and gnarled
Quietly, it comes creeping in
Staring with its well-known grin
Darkened corners of the mind
Can’t be hidden from its sight
Staring endlessly, shattering my will
Horrified, I truly begin to feel
Asphyxiated, catching my breath
Hoping for life, hoping for death
The void – it keeps calling my name
I dare not listen, I refuse the pain
This visitor’s unwavering stare
It’s haunting my mind, I am aware
Everyone’s there, but nobody’s here
In the labyrinth of me, insanity’s near
Everyone’s here, but nobody’s there
A great burden, a nightmare to bear
I try to slip away, escape to be free
Is it the visitor’s reign, or is it me?
Morning rises, sleepless night’s gone
I can finally rest, sun finally shone

But now I close my eyes, so you can see
What this world truly means to me.
